Modules are normally held over a four-day weekend (with three five-day modules in Year I) every four to five weeks. Students travel from all over the country to attend the modules. Our program has been carefully designed to accommodate working practitioners so students can maintain their practices while pursuing the degree. Students only need to take a few days off from work each month in order to participate in the program.

Oregon residency is not required in order to participate in the doctoral program. In fact, we currently enroll students from all over the country. While formal residency in Oregon is not required, travel to Portland each month to participate in the teaching modules is required. Our campus is 12 miles (approx. 20 minutes) from Portland International Airport. Students typically stay in hotels while they are in Portland.

A variety of didactic and clinical material is taught in each module. Between modules, students complete assignments that include homework, clinical case studies, a professional development elective course and Capstone research projects.

During the two years of the doctoral program, students complete 180 hours of elective clinical experiences; one of the elective clinical options is up to six weeks of externship study in China.

Our library offers a variety of services to doctoral students because of the non-residency nature of the program.
