The Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) program of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), which is the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing acupuncture and Oriental medicine practitioners. The Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). ACAOM is not currently recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for its candidacy or accreditation reviews with respect to doctoral programs in the field. Oregon College of Oriental Medicine has been granted Candidate for Accreditation status by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Candidacy for Accreditation is a status of affiliation with the Commission which indicates that the institution has achieved initial recognition and is progressing toward accreditation.

Candidacy is not accreditation nor does it assure eventual accreditation.
