The Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) degree is an entry to the profession for individuals seeking to practice acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Our master's degree program is designed to train competent, highly skilled health care practitioners and to provide the foundation for ongoing study and development in the field. Students receive comprehensive instruction and practical experience in all aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, qi cultivation, nutrition and therapeutic massage. As part of the master's program, students also study Western medical approaches and related areas of public and community health, research, practice management and practitioner/patient dynamics. Students gain hands-on experience working with patients in our community clinics. Our master's degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). The college has recently been recognized as the nation's top acupuncture college, according to the Best Colleges survey. Applications are now being accepted for our Fall 2013 class at our new campus in Portland's Old Town Chinatown neighborhood. Begin an application now.
We strongly encourage our applicants to register for one of our upcoming Admissions Seminars. Are you interested in OCOM, but unable to make it to Portland? Visit OCOM on the Road or register for our next Virtual Admissions Seminar on April 30. Follow the links for information on Admission Requirements, Curriculum, and our Clinic Education program.
