In this Alumni Association sponsored talk, Dr. Gao will discuss the current status of resources of Chinese herbs and the distribution of medicinals in China. Rare herbs and those in danger of exctinction will be discussed as well as Good Manufacturing processes (GMP) of Chinese herbal medicines.


As a researcher, Dr. Gao has made discoveries in the areas of plant genetics, tissue cultures of medicinal pants, the influence of space flight on medicinal plants, utilization of resources to to improve the quality of Chinese patent medicines and the development of new drugs and functional foods using medicinal plants.


1.5 CEUs pending.  Free and open to the public. The lecture will be held in Room 1 of the main college building.
